Much was made of the fact that Gard didn't have the team run the Elver park hill this summer. This was a staple of Bo's off season conditioning. I'm not saying that it gives you better handles or puts more arc on your jumpshot, but it certainly builds teamwork and comeraderie. This team could have used both this year. Not to mention, Bo's teams seemed to get better as the year went on. (minus a couple early round misses in the NCAA). This year, we stumbled down the stretch, appeared distracted and unenergized on defense, missed free throws, and did all the thngs that a fatigued team does. When Gard's bench shrunk in the tournament, especially with Khalil's abscence, it became even more apparent. The final straw was their dismal shooting and defense in the second half of the BTT championship game. We got outhustled, out shot, and out played by a team playing 4 games in 4 days that each lost 10 lbs (all brown) on a Detroit runway. They say a great season is made in the offseason. I hope the coaching staff realizes this, and brings back this pillar of Wisconsin BB.
