Another rant that isn't groundbreaking but just recently irritated me is the latest of the reality shows I saw from the "focus on a small shop in whatever industry and call it "American _______" genre. I saw an episode about these guys who make guns and it could not have been more stupid. Design controversies! ("Bill wanted the curved handle but I think it should be straight"), Fabrication problems! ("dad gum it, the trigger don't fit"), and oh the pressure! ("They sent the wrong part and now we're off deadline"). A bunch of fat rednecks doing their damndest to add beauty parlor drama to the workshop floor! None of which bothers the client, who professes his happiness with the job with all the enthusiasm of a toll booth worker before blowing something up while some hot women we haven't seen before jump up and down. Yeehaw. I could have clawed my eyeballs out. I kept watching only because I was waiting for the SNL cast member to appear and reaffirm my faith in our culture. As always, this post is written with the express proviso that I am not a chicken little. The sky is not falling. My office window does not have a ledge. I'm happy we won. I heard some ranked teams even lost. I'm glad we are not Virginia Tech. I like our coach. I know these are 19 year old kids. The season is young. Mistakes will get cleaned up. Fowler said even Alabama threw an interception once. The other guys are on scholarship, too. After living through the Don morton era, I'm just glad to be here.

Many of the towers that they've erected are crooked as hell, and some are not even close to being vertical. They might be off by upwards of 3-5 degrees! I'm sure accidents occurring on the beltline by OCD people have skyrocketed. wiggle wiggle womp, wiggle wiggle wump, wiggle wiggle ooh wah whooo "I'd prefer it that my school's mascot not be portrayed as someone that shirks work responsibilities but instead is checking out smut on the internet. Haven't noticed the power lines being crooked but having to drive on the beltline frequently over the past few months has completely destroyed the long standing feeling I've had that Madison could be a place where I wouldn't mind living at some point in my life.

I've looked at alternate routes taking me north of town but have just bitten the bullet and went with punching myself in the nuts by taking the Beltline.

Been using this route more often than not to get to MATC-Truax. I'm sick and I came in to work to compile 1 fucking program so it can get sent out to a customer, and the fucking network admin decided to take the build server down to to get a backup. Because the backups the last 2 nights failed. So let's stop the progress of 30 other people, especially Lumpy, who is thinking about barfing, so you can get a backup that you could have checked on all fucking weekend by dialing in from home. Attn:Admins of all type---- you are support staff. The world does not revolve around you. you are a cost center. do your fucking job without impeding the progress of the revenue generators and/or barfers. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
