I guess DB is isn't helping Russell Wilson shine at all this year in Seattle and had nothing to do with the career season old #4 had with him calling the plays as OC at Minnesota. Accurate that he doesn't have any head coaching experience, but let's give some credit for a pretty successful career as an OC at the highest level of football. Why can a guy like Chyrst or Doerner make the jump from being a coordinator at the college level to head coach, but a guy who is a coordinator at the highest level can't. I don't buy that.

O.k. smart asses - - what makes you think kids being recruited by Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly, and the other big name coaches are going to get excited about playing for essentially no name (outside of Bucky World) guys like Doerner or Chryst? For every guy that comes out of the MAC and succeeds there are a bunch more who fail.

BB had the advantage of riding on Barry's coattails and his assistant coaches at the start up stage to get momentum and keep things going - - the next guy up is not going to have that advantage and the recruiting competition is only getting tougher - - at a school like Wisconsin you need to have a spark to give you an edge and Bevell would give you that especially because to these high school kids it is all about getting into the NFL someday - - especially the top QB prospects.

You going to tell me that Bevell isn't smarter than BB and wouldn't be a better X's & O's game day coach - - please.

You going to tell me that parents wouldn't trust Bevell more than a sketchy guy like BB -- again please.


You don't think a guy as smart as Bevell who lives and breathes football couldn't easily adapt to the college game?

What head coaching experience did BB have when he took over for Barry? For that matter, I don't remember Bill O'Brien ever having a head coaching job when he went from being (wait for it) an NFL offensive coordinator to Penn State.

Bevell would be a non traditional play - - but I don't see a guy with his drive and track record failing. But depends whether you are content with just being in the Rose Bowl hunt if everything happens to go your way or if you want to take a calculated risk and get in front of the Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly and Zaban train and actually try to run with the big boys knowing you can't pay that kind of money or delegate that kind of power to a head coach at a school like the UW.

Now if you want to have a real pros and cons discussion let's go at it.
