He shoulda been the first to go since he stuck his neck out on the sampson hire in the first place - and it failed miserably.

scoobs69 wrote: Actually, Rick Greenspan didn't want Kelvin Sampson. His top candidate (as well as that of many people on the search committee) was Kevin Stallings (Vanderbilt's coach). Former Indiana University President Adam Herbert more or less dictated that they go with Sampson, and I suspect a lot of that had to do with the outcry resulting from replacing a black coach with a white coach. Greenspan should be fired, for letting things get as far out of control as they did. Or maybe he should have been fired for not standing up to Herbert and
saying "I will not hire a guy with a tarnished record" (which probably would have gotten him fired anyhow, but he would not have been tarnished).

If an AD can't hire his own guy for such a key position, then he should resign on the spot and go elsewhere, assuming his balls are larger than pea size.
Maybe failing to monitor was his passive-aggressive way of getting back at IU for forcing this on him in the first place. Either way, he seems to have
committed career suicide.
