Posts: 4592 September 9, 2009 5:51 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't have any good recipes or the like for 50... the most I've done for is 20-25 and those were either big pots of chili, red beans & rice and/or jambalaya. Then had others bring salads, desserts, chips, etc... If you decide to cook yourself, do as much prep work (or even cooking if it can be reheated easily) in advance. Day before (or well in advance that day) chop everything and/or measure it out. Store it so all you really need to do is dump it in and go from there... Good luck. ricecloud9

Then you've got some options. I've done any of the following: 1. A big pot or two of sloppy joes. You can make this ahead of time and just add more to heat up as needed. Plus you have lots of leeway with the recipe. 2. Large chunks of meet; say ham or turkey. Harder to prepare, although ham is easier to cut up. 3. Fire up the big Webers (not some girly grill like in the picture above) and cook up a mess of brats, burgers, chicken breasts and dogs. I do this every year for our Homecoming bash. If you like grilling, it is a lot of fun, but the bad part about this is that you are cooking during the party, so you don't get to see as many people. I'd go with #1 if I were you. . Or, of course, if there was some inspiration out there for doing this myself, I may have run with it. However, I did decide to go with the local meat house (Wyttenbach Meats in Prairie du Sac). I've got 5-7 pounds each of pork and beef on the way for sandwiches. Can't beat it. Thanks for the advice.

I bought a rib roast at Christmas and was shocked at the $60 price tag (for three people, but I told them two were 20-something men), but it was probably the best beef I have ever had. We put in an offer on a place there last summer and ended up buying in Sauk instead. My wife and I are townies who moved back here from Milwaukee. I stole a shopping cart from the A&P and go around the office twice a day collecting aluminum cans. It's gotten easier and quicker now that everybody is accustom to my schedule, and just quickly throws a can in the cart without unnecessary chit-chat or eye contact. LumpyWideAss 7-2-2009
