Wow.
The Badgers were up 23-17 in the first game, playing well and in complete control. Then the wheels fell off. They got outscored 73-54 from that point on, at home, to a team that has lost 13 times this year. Getting hit 73-54 to the #1 team in the country would be embarrassing given where this program is (that may be exaggerating, but not by much). But to Iowa State? The passing seemed to fall apart late in game one and combined with some uncharacteristic Badger passing and hitting errors, Iowa State got some confidence and never looked back. And the Badgers did precisely nothing to turn it around, trailing all the way in games two and three. At least that's my extremely amateurish take on it. It's tough to see Wack, Simpson and Reineke go out this way. And what if the NCAA held a Regional in Madison and nobody showed? |

Iowa State's coach is Christy Johnson, who was Pete Waite's longtime assistant. Sometimes, seniors can start playing tight when faced with the prospect of their athletic career coming to a close.

Ouch - Iowa St did a great job of not letting the ball hit the floor, and Wisconsin brought its C+ game. Not a good combination.

It was tough to watch.
During Friday nights ISU/SD I was thinking to myself that we don't want to face ISU. They serve tough and nothing hits the floor against them. They have a Wisconsin player (freshman) as their libro and she serves a nice jump floater and gets everything. It comes down to passing and we didn't and they did. We could never get anything going because we always faces two blocks. Congrats to Christy and ISU for moving on they were the better team tonight. Seniors we will miss you. |

I was amazed this AM to read this - I watched most of the first game and switched over to watching football with the Badgers up 7.
And they have to get a better P-B-P guy for their web streams - he's awful and makes way too many errors. Just live sound with an occasional score update would be better. Semi-proud President - Elect of the Buckyville COF community
