Coming home on a California freeway last night. Medium traffic moving about 70 more-or-less.
I see somebody 150 yards coming up behind me, weaving between lanes and going about 95. I hold my position. Obviously some drunk or a wild-ass kid. Car flashes past me on the left. Surprise--it's a CHP cruiser. No other vehicle had passed me at high speed. I think: "You turkey. Even if you're on a silent run, put your damn emergency lightbar on." Otherwise, he looks like any other reckless driver.
When can a cop run at high speed without the lightbar on?
