I did watch the game, but its also the day PelosiCare goes to vote. I think its a pretty critical day for the future of us small business owners and anyone
employed by such as us.

And you posting thus, on a Badger Sports Message Board, is somehow going to change things?
sorry dude - you might want to have a deep seeded review on how you respond to "critical" aspects in your life - just a thought

well its passing, giving enough dems political cover for a narrow passage. Here is a snapshot of how they worked with CBO to hide the costs:

Don't worry, this is why we have the senate
If this bill is going to get in your pocket based on payroll, act fast to divide operations....you don't want that 8% coming down the pipe at you next year or whenever they start collecting these "taxes". The bill sucks for me because my operations, while technically divided already, can only grow about 30% on either side before I'd have to pay the tax. There is zero logic in crossing that threshold to be met with an 8% tax.....you'd actually lose money by growing. This may be the perfect time to lay down a little cash on a smallish construction (my research says underground utility) firm to diversify and grow revenue and still stay under the payroll tax with a new entity. I'm a firm believer that this bill will fuck up alot of small players and the fallout will be an absolute boondoggle for guys just laying in the weeds looking for deals. Half of the small businesses are already hurting so this additional kick in the nuts will send some over the edge. I'd hate like hell to be that guy making $125K/yr and heavily mortgaged in his business - to get hit by an 8% tax on $750,000 in payroll.....poor fucker will be under water inside of 18 months I will, however, be happy to pick up his business for pennies on the dollar and whack his staff OK, I wouldn't do that
Please pass the ammo! |

yeah I'm not sure how it would be possible to divide up my operations like that. I've got 40 people that are doing about 30 hrs per week right now,
while my competitors are laughing at me for keeping these jobs in the states. Now we get to pile all of this on top of the higher labor costs I've already
been paying. 75% of these jobs are "virtual" office... out of their homes and the vast majority don't require customer interaction (ideal for
overseas anyways). Looks like Santa Claus will be handing out pink slips this year.
Maybe I'll look into setting up "contracting" relationships or something else as a possible workaround. The 15 FT get pretty nice benefits, but they are highly skilled. This is going to be FANTASTIC for our economy. |

There will definately be a way for you to divide up with only 40 employees and clear that payroll number. My accountant is ex-IRS, I'm meeting with her
a week from Tuesday and I'd be happy to bounce some scenarios around if you'd like. They know every damn loophole that exists......I wouldn't
sweat a bit if I were you.

You could even work a "ho" to my garden metaphor - I'm gonna deep seed that ho with my sickle. I suppose you could deep seat her as well but I hear some chic's don't dig that junk in the trunk business. None of this is political, so I'll stop for now.... Please pass the ammo! |

Its a weekend folks (ie: bham)
When sports are being played This is a Badger sports message board! I happen to think that its crazy to go shouting politics at such a time and place - That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it Conz - I rarely post on this board any more, compared to how I used to post - there are much more important things to worry about in life ( plus the "quality over quantity" aint what it used to be
How bout you go start a brand new message board, since you are so good at it? - Perhaps, dedicated to the meaning of "irony"?

everybody is accustom to my schedule, and just quickly throws a can in the cart without unnecessary chit-chat or eye contact.
