Goldman's golden boy, Greg Smith quits and burns bridges. He's hardly the typical disgruntled employee who is claiming unfairness in promotions. He's been about as successful in the corporate game playing as anybody could hope to be. Of course, GS spokesmen will deny the charges enumerated in his resignation but those very charges are absolutely consistent with their behavior in the financial debacle of 2008.

An act of conscience by a corporate one time predator is pretty damned refreshing. Obviously he's got plenty of FU cash to speak his mind, but at GS, the mind is left behind and corporate kool-aid normally takes its place. It' call the corporate culture and is regarded as a religious tenet. So at least one guy broke ranks and told it like it is/was. Internal profit trumps client care and responsibility. There's your culture.
