Fair or not, that's why we were there. Likewise, does the Post even run this article if not for the blowup last week?

Anyone who dismisses this by denying the impact of negative headlines, saying the story will drop out of the headlines soon, attacking the source or simply claiming not to give a shit what so and so thinks is missing the point. Stories like this just underscore why. While I'll never agree with those who claim the Uthoff saga is a non-event, I am starting to wonder what Bo or UW could have done differently to mitigate some of the fallout. I don't think they handled it well and would have preferred a more proactive, interventionist approach but it's very much debatable whether that would have made any difference at all. I wonder what percentage of people who have had more than 10 experiences with the media think they have been portrayed somewhat unfairly or inaccurately. I'd bet it's a majority and probably an overwhelming one at that.
