On Saturday, several times they flipped BOTH the te and hb?, reversing the strongside to the weakside and vice versa.  Technically, it was a shift rather than a man in motion, since only one can be in motion at a time.   But I can't recall a te or hb being solely set in motion.  And since, when two players shift, they must have to reset for, I believe a full second, the defense had that extra second to adjust and reset as well.  But there were few, if any, single man in motions on Saturday, that I can recall.  In prior years, with both Gilreath and last year, Abby, we would even set a wr in motion.  

I don't know if that was for simplicities sake (for the benefit of new and learning players) or for the sake of not highlighting the current plays to every B10 team that was probably scouting the scrimmage or what.  But without that single man in motion, it gave the offense a much more "set" feel, and in my judgment made the play execution appear to be less "dynamic",   

I always thought that many of our motion schemes made an attack that was run focused, that much harder to defend, and conversely these formations that tend to be more "set" in nature, less difficult to defend.  I'd be interested if anybody else had a similar reaction.
