Trail Runners or WI scenic sights

Posts: 4413 May 1, 2012 9:14 AM just starting to think about having a doner.	Remove this ad I want to start trail running a little bit and am thinking of getting a few people to get a small hotel or cabin sometime this fall probably to give it a shot.. I found a link with all the WI running trails but what are some of the more beautiful areas in WI? I don't really want to go to Door County or wayyyyyyy up North.. I'm thinking La Crosse area or is there somewhere I'm missing? http://www.traillink.com/stateactivity/wi-running-trails.aspx

Posts: 922 May 1, 2012 11:24 AM	What kind of trails are you looking for, because your link was mostly "rails to trails," which wouldn't be my top choice for running. If you are looking in Southern WI, I'd look around Devils Lake (I think the east bluff trail connects to Parfrey's Glen for a 10 mile trail). For something closer to MKE, the Northern and Southern (Scuppernong area) KettleMoraine Forests have some good sections of the Ice Age Trail. Other sections of the Ice Age trail would be good too. Does Black River State Forest have anything? Levi's Mound looks pretty cool.\ Here's a list of some trails in WI that look interesting
