Dekker committed at or shortly after the advanced camp. Kaminksy and Jackson both committed around that timeframe as well, but I don't remember if they were at the camp. I don't think Jackson was, but Kaminsky may have been. Regarding this year's camp, I would be surprised if they got any commitments, unless it was from someone who has not been mentioned publicly much. There could be some more offers, but it doesn't look like any of the 2013 priorities will be there.

Along with the usual suspects (Washington, Ojeleye, Thomas) they have Devin Williams, Toby Hegner, Nick Fuller, Maverick Morgan, and a name I haven't seen before, Garret Covington, listed as targets. They have Convington, a 6'5" SG from Edwardsville, IL with a Wisconsin offer along with offers from Iowa, Murray State, and Indiana. Nothing earth shattering but this is their analysis: "It's a great recruiting season if ... Wisconsin can add in-state shooter Thomas to go along with Koenig. Ojeleye, Williams and Morgan would help on the glass. Washington would bring length, athletic ability and upside, while Fuller and Hegner would bring good size and excellent skill."

Posts: 216 June 10, 2012 8:55 PM	Remove this ad Not sure if this is the right thread for this info but I did see Bronson Koenig play today at Viterbo University at one of Mark Miller's summer events. He looks to be 100% after his injury plagued junior season. BK played really well in the championship game against Fall Creek who had a lot of size and the game was pretty competitive and intense until the very end. The 2013 class must be pretty darn good nationally if there are 100-150 guys better than Bronson like Scout.com thinks. Matt Thomas was also at this event but he missed the first game yesterday because of the ACT and Onalaska lost in 2OT. Ona played in the consolation finals at the same time as Aquinas this afternoon but I wasn't able to catch any part of the game Matt played in. Ona played Augusta and I saw the end of both halfs when the subs were in (Ona won big). The only thing I can add about Matt is that I would be surprised if he made it to 6'6" like his brother Tony. I think he will stay in the 6-3 6-4 range. JMO. Sure would be nice if the Badgers can find some guys who can take advantage of BK's passing ability in the fullcourt and off of dribble penetration. The 2013 class is starting to worry me a bit. Not getting/offering Luke Fischer is beginning to irritate.

Why does anyone even bring up scout.com as though they are the end all say all when so many other scouting services have Bronson in top 50 and some in top 100...and the recruiters for the top 100 have him going to the NBA Top 100- whatever..as far as getting sweaty over filling some spots I believe it will happen in the July period....I really believe we will get some of those long athetic wings and a big...it will happen.

I guess he could change his mind and choose Wisconsin but I am sure the coaching staff knows his lean and has other options. We will have two solid guards for 3 years Thomas would have been here (assuming he didnt red-shirt), but he still would have been nice to get. A forward and a big are much bigger needs for that class but Thomas seemed like a nice fit bombing threes. There could be a lot of reasons he didnt choose Wisconsin - we were too late in the game, he had a better relationship with other staffs, style of play, he didnt want to play for a coach who pulled guys after mistakes, etc - but I wonder if playing time was an issue. No guy wants to look and see a team has their pg, sg, and sf locked in for 3 of his years.

I guess we should wait but it doesn't sound good for him choosing Madison over Ames I wonder what ultimately the reason was. Is it true that he and Hoiberg having a magical relationship! Does the lack of early recruiting enthusiasm by the UW weigh in, or that Thomas's Mother did not like Bo, or was he influenced by roster make-up? Should we be worried that a program like the UW cannot land a White State kid over an Iowa School? Does the lack of commitments 2012/13 actually mean something? Are we feeling the affect of all the negative press over the Uthoff fiasco? My gut tells me that the whole UW staff was not totally on board with the Thomas recruitment. Somebody knows the truth. I don't think we've heard it all yet. I hate being negative about it, and I am not giving up, however I am waiting for something positive to happen with the program.

Maybe time to come through with some other offers if they find kids that can help them.
