Anyone who bothers to look at the facts of this complicated scandal learns very quickly how bald the lie that claims it was a continuation of a Bush admin. operation.

It would take an interested and honest person most of a day to dig out the truth, but this http://www.azcentral.com/...rious-scandal-career.htm is a good starting point re: the only guy who so far has been fired and is remaining silent.

Another good starting point is a series of WaPo articles that just happened to take as fact the ridiculous administration claim that 90% of Mexican cartel guns came from the US----a lie so obvious no intelligent honest reporter would accept it---that were the foundation for a PR campaign to further restrict legal gun sales.

A sad tale of a crass political operation including a stunning lack of respect for the law, the truth, or human lives, with compelling evidence indicating involvement very, very high in the administration in both the operation and the cover-up. Unlikely the whole truth will ever be widely known, but it's there for anyone willing to see it.

The motivation of those in Congress now trying to expose the whole thing is about the same as those who did it---crass politics---but if they do expose the truth then Holder and maybe quite a few others are toast. Maybe the National Inquirer will expose he actual truth, as they have done several times before when the "mainstream press" would not touch it because of their political agenda. Wouldn't that be fun.

I don't disagree with your distaste for the bankers and their partnership with politicians from both parties in screwing the taxpayers, but you are very wrong in assuming Holder's innocence in Fast& Furious. Spend a while and look closely at the evidence available---this has been a really bad example of callous political corruption, and responsibility lies directly on Holder, and maybe his boss. You don't need to accept the NRA's word for anything---just investigate the facts available to anyone who digs a little. Totally inexcusable that the press gives them a pass on this.

This was not a continuation of anything. It was a new and incredibly cynical political assault on legal gun sales for political purposes, and all the information to prove that is available to anyone willing to see it. Read the factual information not in the NYT, et al.

Holder has exhibited a pattern of incredibly cynical disrespect for the law, from the banking stuff, to B Panthers intimidating voters, to trampling ATF agents and getting many people killed to build a PR case for restricting legal gun sales. To say nothing of his in-your-face lying under oath. It would be nice to believe that Holder's guilt is only his own---but I don't.

Let's not forget Janet Reno, the undistinguished former county attny from Fla. who became AG after Clinton's lengthy AG confirmation fiasco during which time Web Hubbel (later convicted, along with a long list of Clinton's people) was apparently in charge of reconfiguring DOJ as the Clinton cabal legal defense/obstruction team.

Holder may be an arrogant liar, among a few other things, and deserves the scorn he is finally getting for that. But we so far have not seen the rampant corruption and obstruction of justice of the Clinton years and DOJ's role in enabling/defending that. So easy to forget.

I will never forgive Bush for not cleaning out the partisan political appointees in DOJ.
