Holmes enrolled at the University of Colorado Medical School as a neuroscience graduate student in June 2011 but voluntarily left the program last month and was in the process of withdrawing from the school, said Dan Meyers, a spokesman for the university. Meyers said he did not know what prompted Holmes to withdraw from the university.

Hate to say it but the guy sounds like he was acting out one of the Joker(heath Ledger) scenes (has all the people at the bank on the floor). This guy shot anybody who tried to leave, according to some witnesses.

Neighbors at the apartment complex said electronic music suddenly started blaring shortly after midnight from Mr. Holmes's apartment, at the top floor of an old, red-brick building. The loud music, playing on an endless loop, startled Kaitlyn Fonzi, a 20-year-old biology student, who lived directly below and was preparing to go to sleep, she said. She assumed her neighbor was having a party and went upstairs to investigate. Ms. Fonzi knocked loudly, but no one answered, she said. The door rattled as if it were unlocked, and she considered going in but noticed something odd: There were no sounds beyond the booming dubstep beat. She called the police nonemergency line to complain about the noise, she said. Two hours later, she was awakened by a SWAT team, in riot gear and carrying assault rifles, who evacuated all of the residents.

Just pointing out that a shot gun is not the same as a shotgun.Well, I obviously need to clarify that I intended to suggest in #3 that it seemed likely many of the wounds of the 59 injured were the result of a shotgun. Or more specifically, the wounds were likely shotgun pellet wounds.
