GAMEDAY!!
WAKE UP!!
Lets Go People
Get out of BED!!
This is Ohio State
They need to have their ass kicked.
No matter what their situation is, they will always be the benchmark of the Big Ten
Growing up in Madison, there were too many whoopings from the Buckeyes
Remember a 49-14 game which was considered a "close" because we were in the game for almost 2 quarters
I remember Ohio State running on us the way we ran on Indiana last week (or so it seemed)
Holding them under 6 yards on any rush was a moral victory
The hopes of a Rose Bowl or a victory over OSU seemed like fairy tales
And then came 1981. And we have never looked back. And we have become the biggest rival of the Buckeyes. Nobody has beaten them more times in the last 30 years.
1981--First big win over the Buckeyes. The flurry at the end of the first half including Wendall Gladams 60 yard field goal
1982--The first win in Columbus since the days of the dinosaurs. 6-0 in the rain. A game that was not on TV so we had to be content listening on WIBA while the Brewers were fighting thru a rain delay to be carried to a win by Mark Brohard
1985
1987
1992 Barry's first big win
1993 The tie though we dominated and should have won. OSU's 3 play, 99 yard drive with two big passes to Joey Galloway
1999 Brooks Bollingers coming out party at the shoe, though Ron Dayne was THE MAN
2001 After a horrendous loss the week before, the Badgers come up with a big win in Columbus
2004 Big road win as the Badgers used a couple big passing TDs to keep their win streak alive
2010 Knock off the #1 Buckeyes. How can you forget David Gilreath's kickoff return
And of course there were some painful losses:
1996 we thoroughly outplay the Buckeyes in Columbus but run into problems in the red zone and lose a heartbreaker
1997 Eddie George and a dominant Buckeye team get taken to the 4th at the Camp before puling away
2008 The late TD by Terrelle Pryor when our defense was lined up the wrong way
2011 I dont think I need to remind anyone of the heartbreaker last year with Braxton Miller's late pass
But enough about the history
Let's look at the reality of today
Our QB play is going to be the key to success today
This is not Indiana. We will not be able to cram the ball down their throat without at least a threat of a run
Look for some barge. Some mis-direction. Some reverses. Some waggles. Some bootlegs
We are going to have to keep OSU off balance. Play the field position game. Limit or eliminate turnovers
I think we win the game if we win the turnover battle. Though it will probably take a +2 to feel comfortable
It will be interesting to see how the OL plays and whether we can run consistently
We cannot have special teams mistakes today. No shanked punts. No missed FGs. No long returns
We need to make the Buckeyes have long fields.
We need to make Braxton throw and contain his runs
I really, really hope we are careful with the throws we ask Phillips to make. If he throws to space we will be okay.
If we ask him to make throws into tight areas I get worried.
But you know what, this defense is tremendous. I like the way it matches up with OSU
I think we can limit them to 20 points. And I think it will be difficult for us to score much more than that.
But today is about MONTEE BALL. And about the other seniors
We need to get MONTEE the record at home!!
I wonder what the athletic department has planned for a giveaway
Are they going to put MONTEE on the stadium wall as they did with Dayne?
Will be a special day in the Camp.
I see MONTEE getting 2 TDs. Abby getting one and 2 FGs.
That gives us a 27-20 win. MONTEE's 2nd TD breaks the 20-20 tie in the 4th quarter.
No better way to end the home season and celebrate the 5th quarter.
And then we beat PSU and Nebraska to return to the Rose Bowl
Remember, every single year of the Big Ten Championship Game we have avenged a tough road loss
So this year let's take revenge on Nebraska
LETS GO RED
ON WISCONSIN
THANK YOU SENIORS
p.s. Besides everything else we CANNOT let the cheating Buckeyes get the win
