Chryst's limitations as a recruiter will not cut it at a school that has to pull so much talent outside the state of Wisconsin. I'd prefer Dorean to Chryst for the reason if the choice was just between the two.

Chryst should have been the guy the first time around. I wouldn't count this out, protects Barry's legacy and gets Paul big money at his alma mater, football and money says this makes sense. Perhaps the rift was just something someone wanted to make up for their own benefit. I would think as most coaches Chryst has an out clause for a school that he would consider his dream job. I'm not sure he feels Wisconsin is it, but maybe so. Agree that I'd like to see Barry step in until he finds a solid successor. Take advantage of what tOSU did last year with their transition and to a certain degree the precedent that Barry set when he transitioned to Bielema. IIRC, they held off on the announcement to allow Bielema more visits with recruits since he wasn't officially the HC at the time. Good luck to Bielema at Arkansas. It'll be tough to win SEC titles given they are not Alabama, LSU or Florida. Don't believe there is any chance Bielema coaches the Rose Bowl. There's a lot of coaching that occurs between now and the actual game. He's already made his decision so just move on. On Wisconsin! The Badgers will survive. The Athletic Department is in great shape and everyone knows that, including potential hires.

Is Barry going to be able to get the budget to go for a big name? No, if he did, Bret would still be here. So former Wisconsin assistants is probably the first place to look.
