Blissfully Disinterested
Also been told any report of #Badgers DL coach C.Partridge heading to Arkansas are very premature. #staytuned
Been told P.Chryst will be #Badgers No. 1 choice but name to keep on radar: Al Golden of Miami. Hmmm.

buckyballsandpucks wrote:"[W]ho wouldn't leave Pittsburgh for Madison[?]"Easy choice between the football programs. Not so easy between the cities. I hated to leave Madison, but I lived there as a student up through my early 20s. There is undoubtedly no better place to live for someone in that demographic. However, for a working adult, Pittsburgh is easily Madison's equal on every level, and its superior on quite a few. It has the advantages of a larger city that Madison does not, yet is not so large a place as to be suffocating. Although I'm not a native, I've lived in Pittsburgh for nearly 30 years, and I would absolutely hate to leave.

JesusQuintana wrote: How come Golden's name didn't come up more with some of the SEC positions? He has to be dying to get out of Miami. Two years, no bowl games, very uncertain future. He seems like more of an east coast guy, and that would be the one thing about him that would concern me--whether he would be committed long-term. Because, you know, Bielema was obviously committed long-term.

What he did with Temple was akin to what Barry did at U.W. going 9-4 / 8-4 in the MAC is akin to winning the Rose Bowl in season 4? Why do we always resort to the facile and usually inapt comaprison to Barry?

Then again, who wouldn't leave Pittsburgh for Madison.Maybe I wasn't really saying anything, and was just dropping a musical reference from the 70s. You of all people should have gotten this!Did someone flunk the Evelyn Wood Speed Reading course?

True, though I expected a little faster start at Miami. With that said, I'd take him in a heartbeat. The faster start at Miami kind of got negated by the whole Shapiro scandal. I'd have expected them to be better too, but I believe he does have a very young team.

There's no doubt that the quality of one city relative to another has very little impact on a young coach's day-to-day life. Hell, there are plenty of coaches who are eager to go to places like Waco, and the only place in America that could conceivably be worse than Waco is Beaumont..
