The problem with Rosemont is its past O'Hare with no viable public transit option from campus.

"Earlier today we voted unanimously to pursue an orderly evolution to a foundation of basketball schools that honors the history and tradition on which the Big East was established," the seven presidents said in a joint statement. "Under the current context of conference realignment, we believe pursuing a new basketball framework that builds on this tradition of excellence and competition is the best way forward." They are leaving the Big East - not dissolving the Big East. Will be interesting to see what the Big East does with this move. Boise and SDSU need to really think about whether its worth traveling across the country to play a bunch of low level football programs when they can do the same with teams right around the corner from them.

In my mind, UConn seems like a perfect target for the ACC and Cincy would be an OK fit in the Big 12 (heck, they've already expanded further east into West Virginia - Bearcats and Mountaineers would be decent rival partners, especially with the Huggins connection). But I have no clue if those conferences have interest.

They know they can get either school at a moment's notice whenever they decided to make the call. Cincy's ship may have sailed when the Big XII didn't jump on Louisville where Cincy would have made a logical partner for them to bring it to 12.
