Your attitude reminds me of junior pilots in the 90s even though their skirmishes had already started. We're seeing the start of the state budget skirmishes and its only going to grow.

I wasn't focused on you finding a job. I was focused on your statement of "comfortably middle class". I was assuming you are in Illinois and staying in Illinois. Looking at Illinois' budget factually there is no way to support the benefits promised to current employees in 20 years absent some black swan event. If your are not expecting to stay in Illinois I think you may be just fine. I find your arrogance of what your future holds funny.
