Serving two masters is hard enough, but it seems to me it is especially difficult when a guy is becoming a head coach. Chyrst and Doeren both did this. I thought it worked out fine. It did????? You mean like 0-2 in Rose Bowls??? Losing two games is working out fine? Not blaming either guy, but the margin for error in big games against top tier teams is VERY slim The distractions could easily be the difference. I don't know. Posts: 1858 December 12, 2012 3:42 PM	My guess is many schools hold the same belief as I do......getting to the bowl matters, winning it does not. The season ended on 12/1. I could not care less (proper) about how anything effects the preparation of an exhibition game. I do care about the program as a whole for the next couple of decades. I am very excited for Barry to brashly grab the reigns again to coach us one more time, but I'm also worried that will spread him too thin to do what is ultimately important, and that's find the next man to lead the program. IMO, the decision for Ash to stay through the RB was HUGE......the more assistants that leave, the thinner Barry is spread. Sorry if you take exception to "fine" but I don't think the coordinators leaving after the game played much of a role in the outcome.

In your scenario, with BB gone and now Ash, Buh, and Partridge leaving as well, who exactly would coach in the Rose Bowl?
