Thoughts from a hockey idiot:
Could it be that Eaves, while recruiting "NHL caliber players" , is recruiting some that aren't the right pieces for the UW National Championship puzzle? Now I expect UW to compete for the title every year, but as Herbie said in the movie Miracle, 'I don't want the best, I want ones that fit into my scheme' (paraphrased). So, does Eaves need to tone it done for blue chippers, and get what his need is versus his wants?
I really think the 2006 team was a perfect fit: goal scorers, corner battlers, grinders, solid D and leadership. Each kid played their part..
