Very impressed with that opening statement

Liked the values he expressed and the way he addressed the in-state recruiting

I think this will be a good fit even if he doesn't give us quite as many soundbites that are memorable. The wins will speak for themselves

Edit: Just watched the clip. My first thought: Wow, we have an ADULT as coach.

Had the exact same thought. Really enjoyed listening to what had to say. Very easy to stay tuned in (unlike Bret).

Interesting notes:

- He wants to run at least a little bit of option.
- Staff will need to have people who have Midwestern recruiting connections.
- Wants to pressure not just on 3rd down
- Pronounces Wisconsin kind of weird
- Clearly very focused on the kids

I agree. I thought it was a solid interview.

I think we were about to see the rivalry turn sort of nasty with OSU in that it didn't seem as though there was a lot of love lost between BB and Urban Meyer. Maybe with the history of GA working for UM, we'll see a tamer side. Who knows. Frankly, I don't know if there's a better way to have a 'rivalry' but I'm sort of glad that GA doesn't seem like someone who will chirp to the media about what he thinks is fair or not when it comes to OSU.

This is also outstanding. No excuses; no finger-pointing at his kicker; very objective analysis; and no bitching about the refs. He said the key to the game was that UW's defense held USU in check. Called Borland "the best linebacker I've ever seen on the field."

Acts like he's been around D1 football for a long time. Comes across as very smart, stern, calm yet intense, astute. Basically he impressed the hell out of me. Not a lot of heming and hawing and aww shucksin' like you saw when Kountry Jer arrived at Minnie. Seems to know exactly what's going on and exactly what he's going to do on Day 1 here at Wisconsin. No BS, no promising rose bowls or B10 championships or crape like that, nosilly gimmicks or practicing saying "on wisconsin" while holding up the 'w' fingers. Just a guy who is happy to be whrre his, visibly upset about leaving a bunch of young men that he cared greatly for and convened primarily with building trust and relationships with his new players.

I don't know about you guys but this guy is my kind of coach if he continues the way he is.
