Is it possible that there is an '09 scholarship for Jamil? Is it possible that there will be a scholarship player, not Gullickson, who will be leaving at
the end of the semester?

don't even think UW offered a scholarship. Do you think the staff was asleep? Or, is it more likely that they didn't think he was as talented as
players they could get elsewhere? Like 4XMajor said, there are no absolutes here. This isn't a situation where if you don't get the best player in the
state you failed. The goal of recruiting is to get the best players you can get period. If you don't think our coaches are doing everything they can to
accomplish that you're nuts.

maybe I'm being too generous, but I interpreted ba07's post as saying that we did LET Lucious go to MSU.
I think his point is that we should make a point of getting all major D1 talent in the state of Wisconsin to go to the University of Wisconsin. I understand this stance since the football team operates that way. Basketball is different because of the number of scholarships. I think we want big time programs to worry about recruiting in Wisconsin, but I don't think a fence is neccesary. Bo can let talented kids go if they don't fit our needs or if they aren't very interested in UW. I would be disappointed if a local kid expressed interest in UW, Bo chose not to pursue him, and another major program picked him up. I don't know of any instances of that happening. |

IIt isn't always about "talent level." It is often about "fit." I'm not talking just about attitude and character, but style of
play. Certain players project better than others into the swing -- it doesn't mean that Lucious wouldn't fit here, just that he may not have seemed
like the best option at the time. I think we'll be pleased with Taylor.

Holy crap! I just realized that if any time during the season we go small and if evans, wilson, and taylor are on the floor with say landry and hughes, it would be the first time I can ever remember that we would have 5 black players on the court at once. I hope Bo realizes this is perfectly legal, and we won't receive a technical foul for doing something like this! |

Wow! The All-Athletic Lineup! Or, you could play Krabbenhoft, Bohannon, Leuer, Jarmusz, and Nankavil for the All-Scrappy High Basketball IQ Fan Favorite lineup! Your crap is tired. Ryan will play the players that give the team the best chance of winning. Ryan may have the heart of Dr. King or David Duke, but he isn't going to bet his job on some perception of players and how they perform based on the amount of melanin in their skin. |

It's hard to imagine any other post for the next 9 months that could "top" it, Bud. But I wouldn't put it past him.

BigEddy, Tisk, Tisk...What a shame, what a shame. There is no need to be pissed off or foster anger. After all, anger management is an underrated quality. And I will explain how this little tidbit of advice may greatly benefit you down the line. BigEddy, say that sometime in the near future you have some ambition and you would like to run for office. Perhaps you aspire to be the mayor of say...Wausau, Wisconsin, a bourgeoning town known as a hotbed of intellectual thought and a great contributor to Western culture. Undoubtedly, your opponents, led by an unscrupulous faction of former Wausau Woodchuck baseball players would love to unearth any and all skeletons you are hiding, as Wausau politics are known to draw great political minds and strategists, the most eminent men hailing from places as diverse as the Northwoods to the plains of Osh Kosh. If only they were to catch wind that a certain prodigy from Wausau, under the pseudonym of BigEddySprings was spewing hate and demonstrating his anger on a Buckyville Message Board...why this could be the revelation that dooms your run for glory. Why, the fiasco could be dubbed "Buckygate" and your aspirations could come crumbling down before you could say "Wausau Woodchuck 5 times over." So BigEddy, if you would love nothing more than the privilege of being immune to speeding tickets in the Wausau metropolitan area, let this cautionary tale serve as a tool to your future success. One Love, Eddy! One Love. |
