Great ending to the episode this past Sunday night, BTW. Gave me goosebumps.
And for those of you who've seen this show on Showtime, exactly how much are they cutting out of the CBS version? Are we getting screwed out of some quality female nudity?

Apologies if this is GBPH, but has anyone else been watching "Dexter" Sunday nights on CBS? I've gotten hooked on this show, and I'm not
exactly sure why. Part of it is the unique premise, I suppose. But I also think the show does a great job of presenting interesting, multifacted characters.
None of the characters (with the possible exception of the single mom Dexter dates) is done with a broad brush -- they're all presented as fairly complex
people.

I have also gotten hooked on the show during its CBS run. I really think the premise is interesting. I think a few of the early storylines were given short
shrift though. Also, I think there is some real bad acting by some of the more peripheral characters. Dexter's foster sister's cop partner is a
terrible actor in my opinion. The guy who plays Dexter does a wonderful job. Frankly, I wish the show would concentrate on him more than it does. I lose
interest in many of the side stories. Despite those complaints, I still really enjoy the show. I am also interested to know exactly what I am missing in the
CBS version of the show.

I watched the first two seasons on Showtime. The first season is pretty good but it does concentrate on many different angles of the cast. Also, you aren't
missing much nudity. The second season on the other hand is a lot more concentrated on Dexter and his "profession". There is also more nudity, at
least from what I remember. I haven't watched it on CBS yet but from what I've seen of CSI I would assume you aren't missing much outside of the
profanity. I think the second season is better than the first.

When does the second season end or did it already? I was in basic training during the second season and missed every single episode, for some reason they
don't allow you to watch TV. I was thinking that after the season ended the season would be available to buy or download.
I think I got more hooked on Dexter than any other show in the past, all you probably miss on CBS is Deb's potty mouth. I don't recall much nudity from season 1. "That ain't Chuckie's game. Chuckie hacks on 2-and-0." |

I watched this show for the first time yesterday. It was awesome.
I may have missed something, but what's the deal with the guy dating Dexter's sister? Is he a serial killer? Why did he kill Dexter's biological father?
He loved the Golden Gophers but he hated all the drawn out winters.

The prothesis maker is a serial killer known as "The Ice Man". He has been stalking Dexter for a couple of shows and is as meticulus as Dexter is,
but kills just to kill, whereas Dexter kills people who deserve it (his logic). He's already inside of Dexter's head. My guess is that he's
trying to make Dexter slip up, so he can prove his superiority or some such thing. I do feel guilty watching it, that's for sure.

I used to Tivo this show during Season 1 on Showtime but kind of fell behind. I really liked the show and maybe will wait to see if it comes out on DVD to
catch up. Need to do the same with "Lost"- watched Season 1 and parts of 2 and it would be pointless to try to jump in right now this season.

Probably a product of being a certain age at a certain time, but there's really only one guy that comes to mind when I hear "Iceman."

Excellent episode last night, although it was strange to see an "emotional" Dexter throughout the episode. Loved the way he dealt with Rita's ex
-- I'd always figured he was destined for the shrink-wrap treatment, but the writers threw a nice changeup there. I'll be eagerly awaiting the two-hour
season finale next week. But ...
There's going to be a major Sunday-night void in my life when this show (at least temporarily) disappears. I'm hooked, and it's such a great way to end the weekend. We have two kids, ages 2.5 and 1, so our weekends typically aren't very relaxing. Most of the time, one of us is running an errand or doing a household chore while the other watches the kids. On Sunday nights, the kids go down at about 8:15, and I have 45 minutes to load the dishwasher and open a bottle of wine before settling in for "Dexter." It's like a reward for my wife and I after working our asses off all weekend. Now what the hell am I going to do with my Sunday nights? We may have to buy Season 2 on DVD and limit ourselves to one episode per week. "According to local legend, the wolverine is a cross between a bear and a wolf. Really, really like the show. My wife and I were bored so we ordered Showtime so that we did not have to wait for the final 3 episodes on CBS as we now get On
Demand along with the Showtime subscription. Well, after we watched the final 3 we ended up watching the second season over the last 2 weeks or so. We
probably watch too much TV, but Dexter was worth it. I thought the second season was better than the first. I can't wait until October for Season 3.
