The third-ranked varsity eight beat No. 2 Brown and a field that included five of the nation's top six, seven of the nations top 10 and 10 ranked boats out of 18 schools competing for the UW's third varsity eight championship in event history. The Badgers also won in 1946 and 2002. The victory, along with the school's second consecutive second varsity eight Eastern Sprints title gave the Badgers their first Rowe Cup as EARC conference champions since 1946.Link
